William Franklin ‘Frank’ Blankenship

A memorial service for William Franklin “Frank” Blankenship, 69, of Panama City, Fla. was Tuesday, October 13, at 10 a.m. at Southerland Family Funeral Home in Panama City, Fla. with Gary Brackett officiating.
Mr. Blankenship died Friday, October 9, 2009. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was an industrial electrician and worked for Alabama Electric, Brown and Root at Stone Container Co. and Williams Electric and Bay Medical Center. He was preceded in death by his father, Private William Chester Blankenship and his stepfather, Homer C. Pack Sr.
He is survived by his mother, Mildred Blankenship Pack of Athens; his wife of 21 years, Yvonne Blankenship; four children, Yolanda Granger and husband Butch, Elaine Button and husband Jan and Sandy Roberts and husband David, all of Panama City, Fla. and John Whaley of Gainesville, Fla.; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a special cousin, Doris McGuire and husband Arvid of Athens.
