Funeral for Arthur Daniel “Dan” Harris, 82, of Hartselle will be Thursday (today), November 19, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Hartselle with Dr. Jeff Redmond officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial will be in Hartselle City Cemetery.
Mr. Harris died Monday, November 16, 2009, at Falkville Health Care Center. He was born February 26, 1927, in Houston County to George Walter Harris and Ila Inez Williams Harris. He was a deacon and member of First Baptist Church of Hartselle. He served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Randolph during World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Pridgon Harris of Hartselle; a son, Clay Harris and wife Missy of Green Cove Springs, Fla.; two daughters, Donna Segars and husband Craig of Hartselle and Robin Kessler and husband David of Madison, Miss.; five grandchildren, Croft Segars and wife Christie Mac, Walter Segars, Sara McCabe and husband Michael, Hanna Harris and Paige Kessler; and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Croft Segars, Walter Segars, Michael McCabe, Ferrell Vest, Dan Sparkman and Gene Parker.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund or to your favorite charity.
