Following a sixth-month tenure as interim head, Butch Naylor has officially taken over the helm as chief at Hartselle Medical Center.
Naylor was selected through a search process conducted by Capella Healthcare, the HMC Board, medical staff, administration and department managers.
Naylor has more than 35 years of experience, serving as CEO at various hospitals in the Southeast, including Woodland Medical Center in Cullman, Harris Hospital in Newport, Ark. and Scott County Hospital in Oneida, Tenn.
He was appointed interim CEO of HMC following the departure of Jeff Rains in June.
David Burleson, board chairman for Hartselle Medical Center, said the board and staff have been impressed with Naylor’s enthusiasm and focus.
Naylor holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting, which he received from the University of Georgia. He earned a master of business administration from Georgia State University and is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE). Naylor and his wife, Cathy, have two sons, Aaron, a member of the US Navy, and Sloan, a student at the University of Arkansas.
