Funeral for Fred A. Bennett Jr., 77, of Hartselle was Friday, November 20, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Harold Thompson and Robert Sparkman officiating.
Burial was in Hartselle Cemetery.
Mr. Bennett died Wednesday, November 18, 2009, at his residence. He was born December 16, 1931, in Morgan County to Fred A. Bennett and Lucy Stewart Bennett. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Hartselle, a graduate of Auburn University and served as a banker for 30 years with Citizens Bank of Hartselle and retired from SouthTrust Bank. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jimmie S. Bennett.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita “Nita” Hobbs Bennett of Hartselle; a son, Stewart A. Bennett and wife Lynne of Hartselle; a daughter, Sally Ann Worden of Hartselle; a sister, Sarah Anne Debter of Sheffield; and three grandchildren, Travis, Cerra and Jake Little.
Pallbearers were Johnny Bennett, Ronald Debter, Charles Debter, Don Morgan, Jake Little and Keith Little.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to the ALS Foundation of Alabama or to the First United Methodist Church of Hartselle.
