Funeral for Joe Bennich Sr., 76, of Decatur was Sunday, November 22, at 2:30 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Smith officiating.
Burial was in Bishop Family Cemetery in Decatur.
Mr. Bennich died Friday, November 20, 2009, at his residence. He was born May 21, 1933, to George Owen Bennich and Mary Lou Mayfield Bennich. He was the founder of Hartselle Motor Company. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Hester Bennich of Decatur; a daughter, Anita Penn and husband Tim of Hartselle; a son, Joe Bennich Jr. and wife Vanessa; two grandchildren, Joanna Borden and husband Chris and Zachari Penn; two great-grandchildren, Noah Penn and Tyde Borden; three brothers, Tom Bennich and wife Edith, Larry Bennich and wife Linda and Rex Bennich and wife Karen.
Pallbearers were family and friends.
