Stisher named to ACCA committee

District 3 Morgan County Commissioner Don Stisher was recently appointed to one of the Association of County Commissions of Alabama’s legislative steering committees. As a committee member he will play an active role in shaping the association’s legislative agenda package for the upcoming regular session of the Alabama Legislature.
Stisher was appointed to the Public Works and Rural Transportation Steering Committee.
This committee reviews and evaluates all issues related to rural roads and bridges, including funding, safety and state and federal rules and procedures. It also considers matters related to county public works projects, such as funding, competitive bidding and procedures. Its recommendations are forwarded to the ACCA’s board of directors and ultimately included in the association’s 2010 legislative program.
