Hartselle swimmers solid at state meet

AUBURN - Hartselle recorded a pair of top 20 relay finishes Saturday in the Alabama High School Athletic Association’s state swimming championships at Auburn University.
Hartselle finished 30th overall in the standings among 75 teams from around the state in all six classifications.
The Tigers - Jess Horton, Alexandra Williams, Tiffany Pittman and Jordan Bruner - finished 13th overall in the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 4:05.80.
Hartselle’s 200 medley relay team of Mary Filiatrault, Bailey Adams, Megan Rodgers and Brantley Keliinoi finished 15th at 2:06.18.
The Tigers were also 34th overall in the 200 freestyle relay with a team consisting of Filiatrault, Adams, Rodgers and Keliinoi.
Tiffany Pittman had Hartselle’s highest individual finish after picking up a 23rd place in the 100 breastroke after clocking in at 1:16.18. She was also 35th in the 100 freestyle (59.88).
Jordan Bruner took 27th place in the 200 individual medley at 2:31.64. She was also 33rd overall in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:09.33.
Jess Horton had a 35th place finish in the 50 freestyle after posting a time of 27.60. She was also 39th in the 100 freestyle at 1:00.1.
Falkville’s Clay Austill finished 34th overall in the boys’ 100 backstroke after clocking in at 1:05.20.
