Man arrested for stealing vehicle

An arrest has been made in connection to a vehicle stolen from the Punkin Center community in September.
On Sept. 9, a 1997 Dodge pickup truck was reported stolen from a car lot in Punkin Center. Members of the Criminal Investigation Division recovered the vehicle the same day abandoned at a convenience store in Decatur.
Following several leads, investigators were led to a junkyard in Lawrence County where Joseph Daryl Knight, 23, was identified as a person trying to sell a truck matching the description of the stolen truck. Knight was arrested after deputies received a report he was applying for a job at Wayne Farms. He is charged with receiving stolen property in the first degree and was taken to Morgan County Jail on $5,000 bond.
