Meth lab tossed into creek

An Eva man allegedly attempted to flee from a Morgan County Sheriff’s Deputy, tossing a methamphetamine lab into a creek and igniting a fire in the process.
According to Sheriff Greg Bartlett, deputies went to the home of Jeremy Eugene Harbison, 38, 1081 Daniels Chapel Road in Eva, to serve a felony arrest warrant for unlawful manufacture of a controlled substance in the first degree. As agents arrived, Harbison attempted to flee on foot while carrying an active methamphetamine lab, including two one pot shake and bake bottles. During the foot chase, Harbison attempted to destroy the meth lab by pouring its contents into a creek. The contents exploded when it contacted the water, narrowly missing a drug agent with open flame and debris.
Harbison was later apprehended and another manufacturing charge was filed against him
Agents recovered components of the lab from the creek, including a one pot methamphetamine lab with a gas generator containing ammonium nitrate, an unknown fuel, coffee filters containing lithium strips and other ideas that melted due to the explosion. Also arrested on the scene was Gerald Allen Bailey, 47, of 18 Bates Road in Eva. He is also charged with unlawful manufacturing in the first degree.
