Sex offender behind bars

A convicted sex offender from Michigan was arrested in Morgan County last week after deputies discovered he wasn’t living at his reported address.
Patrick Jeffery Johnson was convicted in Michigan of criminal sexual conduct in the third degree, a felony, in connection with a 22-year-old female. He had moved to Morgan County and deputies received reports he was not living at his reported address at a local motel. Deputies determined Johnson was renting the room to other people and deputies found someone else living in the room when they went to the motel.
Johnson was arrested Nov. 30 and charged with failure to report as a sex offender. He is being held on $2,500 bond and must provide proof of residency before he can be released.
