Funeral for Wanda “Joyce” Cross Vandiver, 68, of Hartselle was Sunday, December 6, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain K. Fred Wilks of Wiregrass Hospice officiating.
Burial was in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Mrs. Vandiver died Wednesday, December 2, 2009, at Summerford Nursing Home. She was born October 8, 1941, in Lawrence County to Lester Earl Cross and Gladys Juanita Sparks Cross. She had worked as a nurse’s aide at Lawrence County Health Department and as a waitress at Country and Wagon Wheel Restaurant. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Rayburn Neal Cross; a sister, Marjorie Sue Lewis; and a husband, Pelmer Ledlow.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry Steven Vandiver of Hartselle; a daughter, J. Lorraine “Lori” Jordan and fianc/ John Asherbranner of Falkville; two sons, Robert Dean Jordan and wife Sue and Larry Wayne Jordan and wife Jill, all of Michigan; two brothers, R.E. “Bob” Cross and wife Lorraine of Moulton; and Lester Dale Cross and wife Carol of Tennessee; a sister, Margaret Jeanette Goodwin and husband Rocky of Arkansas; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were family and friends.
