Funeral for Major Quenten S. Looney, 90, of Lewisburg, Tenn. was Friday, December 4, at Bills McGaugh Funeral Home in Lewisburg, Tenn.
Final interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia with full military honors.
Major Looney died Tuesday, December 1, 2009. He retired from the U.S. Army with 26 years of service. Following his retirement he continued serving in a civilian capacity at the Army Military Personnel Administration Center in St. Louis, Mo. for 10 years. He was a model citizen and served as a defender of his country, a loyal friend to his associates and a successful farmer and contributor to his community. He was a long-time member of the American Legion, the Republican party in Marshall County where he served two years as chairman, the Marshall County Election Commission and First Presbyterian Church of Lewisburg. He was preceded in death by his parents, Morris Floyd and Geneva Looney and a son, James Michael Looney.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Looney of Lewisburg, Tenn; a daughter, Patricia Mosko of Ardmore, Penn.; two brothers, Morris Looney and wife Marjorie of Lewisburg and Jack Looney of Cabool, Mo.; a sister, Lorene Campbell of Tuscumbia; and two grandchildren, Suzanne and Peter Mosko.
