Men charged with stealing weapons

A group of Hartselle residents were among those charged in connection with the burglary of more than 27 weapons.
Bryan Fair, 20, Jacob Johns, 18, Stephen Grantland, 18, all of Hartselle and Roger Knight, 19, of Danville are all charged with third-degree burglary. Another male juvenile was also arrested on the same charge. Fair was also charged with receiving stolen property in the first degree and Knight was charged with theft in the second degree in connection with auto parts stolen from the same home earlier in the year.
The group was arrested after Decatur Police responded to reports of gunshots in Danville. When they arrived, police found the guns inside a car parked at the dead end of Lee James Road and saw three men running from the vehicle. A female was left inside the car. She was later charged with carrying a pistol without a permit and possession of drug paraphernalia and taken to the Morgan County Jail.
Earlier in the day, Decatur police had received a report of the burglary of more than 60 guns from a Decatur home. The guns found in the car were later identified as being taken from the home.
The suspects were later arrested and taken to Morgan County Jail. Johns and Grantland were released on $2,500 bail. Fair was retained on $7,500 bond and Knight on
