Funeral for Roda Jane White Woods, 93, of Decatur was Saturday, Dec. 19, at 11 a.m. at Mount Vernon West with the Rev. John Bain officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in Mount Vernon Cemetery in Cullman County.
Mrs. Woods died Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2009, at Summerford Nursing Home. She was born July 10, 1916, in Lawrence County, Tenn. to Robert White and Evie Sims White. She was the youngest of 12 children. She was married to Hearl K. Woods for 50 years. She was also preceded in death by an infant son; her parents; and her siblings. A special thank you to Dr. Scott Matthews, Carol and Beth for their wonderful care and friendship.
She is survived by a daughter; Merle Woods Higdon and husband Ed of Decatur; two grandsons, Dr. Hal L. Higdon and wife Nancy of Springfield, Missouri and Terry Higdon and wife Nancy of Decatur; four great-grandchildren, Alexandria Higdon of Sewanee, Tenn., Andrew Higdon, Brent Higdon and Michael Higdon, all of Decatur; and nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Hal Higdon, Terry Higdon, Andrew Higdon, Brent Higdon, Michael Higdon and Edward Vest.
