Funeral for William Alfred White, 89, of Hartselle was Sat., Dec. 26, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ron Salter officiating.
Burial was in Johnson Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. White died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009, at Hartselle Medical Center. He was born Oct. 20, 1920, in Morgan County to William Edward White and Mary Emily Thomason White. He was a member of Johnson Chapel United Methodist Church and was retired from Ingal’s Shipyard as a foreman. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Alfred White Jr.; a son-in-law, Bobby Collins; a grandson, Chris White; four brothers, Emerice White, Elmer White, Auther White and James “Jim” White; and four sisters, Agnes White, Aurelia White, Elsie McAbee and Birtie Terrell.
He is survived by his wife, Aline Ward White of Hartselle; a son, Darrel White of Hartselle; two daughters, Kaytreen Collins of Hartselle and Nancy Hagood and husband Carlos of Decatur; a daughter-in-law, Theresa White of Killen; a sister, Vida Royer of Decatur; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren
Grandsons were pallbearers.
