Funeral for Earlyne Culbreath Bowling, 87, Pine Ridge was Saturday, January 2, at 2 p.m. at Pine Ridge Baptist Church with the Revs. Larry Bishop and Shane Wheeler officiating and Brindlee Mountain Chapel of Morgan City directing.
Burial was in Pine Ridge Cemetery.
Mrs. Bowling died Wednesday, December 30, 2009, at her residence. She was born September 7, 1922, in Morgan County to H.O. and Myrtle Culbreath. She was a lifelong member of the Pine Ridge community and a dedicated member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glynn Bowling; a daughter, Martha Thomas; a grandson, Mark Bowling; a great-grandson, Joshua Thomas; her parents; two brothers, Lester Culbreath and Louis Culbreath; and a sister, Ruth Campbell.
She is survived by a son, Jerry Bowling and wife Dianne; a daughter, Myra Sexton and husband Fred; a son-in-law, Jerry Thomas and wife Marsha; three granddaughters, Kimberly Gehrdes and husband Charles, Misty Moon and Stephanie Putnam and husband Jason; a granddaughter-in-law, Karen Bowling; two grandsons, Todd Thomas and wife Kaci and Eric Thomas and wife Tara; two stepgrandchildren, Alex Sexton and Kay Sexton; 11 great-grandchildren, Chuck Gehrdes, Nicholas Gehrdes, Jack Gehrdes, Mark Gehrdes, Melanie Thomas, Sarah Jane Thomas, Aly Putnam, Gregory Thomas, Jonathan Thomas, Shawn Thomas and Bradley Thomas.
Pallbearers were Gary Cobb, Lelton Parker, Kevin Saint, J.A. Spann, Eric Thomas and Todd Thomas.
