Ruth Robinson Monk

A memorial service for Ruth Robinson Monk of Homewood was Tuesday, January 5, at 12 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church in Homewood.
A graveside service was held Wednesday, January 6, at 1 p.m. at Falkville City Cemetery with the Rev. Randy Overstreet officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Monk died Friday, January 1, 2009, at her residence. She was born in Falkville. She was employed by Birmingham Trust National Bank and retired from Brookwood Orthopedics in 1998 where she worked as office manager. She was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church for more than 50 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Magdalene Clark Robinson and her husband, Ray William Monk Sr.
She is survived by a son, Ray William Monk Jr. and wife Tamara and a daughter, Mary Monk-Tutor and husband Terry of Birmingham.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church or to the National Audubon Society. The family wishes to thank all of the loving caregivers from Alacare and HomeInstead.
