Writer shares New Year’s poem
Editor:
Here I am, your calendar new
In the new of your Lord, coming to you
Each day spent seeking Christ anew
This gift of time God gives to you.
Each other, uphold in prayer and love
Keep eyes on the goal, it’s Heaven above
Acknowledge God, beginning each day
When night comes don’t’ forget to pray
To God above, who waits for you
Sustaining powers and His love in lieu
Your knowledge of Christ, share with somebody today
Stand boldly for Christ, don’t block His way
Nearer than the breath we breathe is our Lord
His Holy Spirit within you is poured
Redemption draws nigh, time ticks away
God holds the time, Jesus will come for us one day.

Lucky pup finds its way home
Editor:
On Friday, Dec. 26, a female Wheaten Terrier was found in a subdivision near downtown Hartselle. She was immediately taken to the North Alabama Cat and Bird Clinic, who scanned for a chip. She had one!
A search was initiated by Home Again (the data base for the chip) and the American Kennel Association. A successful conclusion was reached a week later when “Peggy” was reunited with the son of the original owners. His mom and dad, the original owners, had passed, but there was an obvious tie to mom and dad. After three long years, Peggy is home.
Merry Christmas to Peggy and her grateful owners.
