Funeral for Gloria Anne Riggs, 70, of Bessemer will be Friday, Jan.15, at 1 p.m. at Walnut Grove Baptist Church with Bo Seagrist officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial will be in Hartselle Cemetery.
Mrs. Riggs died Monday, Jan. 11, 2010, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham. She was born Feb. 7, 1939, in Jefferson County to Travis Washington Jones and Evelyn Earline Gilley Jones. She was a member of Oasis of Praise Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Riggs and her parents.
She is survived by three sons, Tommy Hal Riggs of Decatur, Jimmy Riggs of Trinity and Tim King of Birmingham; six daughters, Susan McAbee Smith and Karen Hopkins, both of Hartselle, Sharon Riggs of Atlanta, Ga., Gloria “Tootie” Smith and Kathy Wilson, both of Birmingham and Jada Hosey of Bessemer; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
