Funeral for Neal A. Reeves, 78, of Hartselle was Wednesday, Jan. 13, at 1 p.m. at Walnut Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. Earl Holt and Stanley Reeves officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Reeves died Monday, Jan. 11, 2010, at Trinity Medical Center. He was born Oct. 17, 1931, in Morgan County to Percy Thomas Reeves and Annie Elsie Colburn Reeves. He was a member and deacon at Walnut Grove Baptist Church. He loved gospel music and sang tenor with the Devotion Singers for many years. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved his extended family, “The Holt Family.” He was preceded in death by his wife he dearly loved, Louise Holt Reeves; his parents; and a brother, Donald Reeves.
He is survived by a son, Ronnie Reeves and wife Karen of Hartselle; three daughters, Gwen Franks of Hartselle, Carolyn Patton and husband Robert of Decatur and Bonnie Shelton and husband Will of Trinity; seven grandchildren, Stacy Edwards, B.J. Franks, Crystal Patton, Todd Patton, Jason Welborn, Austin Reeves and Andrew Reeves; and four great-grandchildren, Brandon Franks, Hannah Edward, Hunter Franks and Dillon Franks.
Pallbearers were grandsons and great-grandsons.
