Sounding off on driving
"I wish people would learn how to turn left off Highway 36 at the intersection of 31 and 36. When the green arrow goes off and the solid green light comes on, it means you can go to the middle of the intersection and turn left (when safe). You don’t have to wait at the line for the next green arrow to come on. I dont know how many times I have waited for grown people, who are supposed to know how to drive, to wait for the next green arrow to come on, when nothing is coming their way. People need to be informed of the proper way to turn, so they don’t hold other people up."
"Or they could do as most everyone else does and turn left onto 36 coming out of the Kroger parking lot. As most people don’t know how to read the no left turn sign there."
"People are not going to change their driving to suit you. Not everyone has the ability to judge distance or react quickly enough to risk turning left in traffic and possibly get T-boned when they can wait for an arrow. Leave 15 minutes earlier and you won't be in such a hurry. Become more tolerant and you will be a happier person. Just remind yourself, "It's not that driver's fault that I'm running late."
Way to go teams!
"Congratulations to Coach Ferguson and the seventh and eighth grade girls basketball teams for winning the Decatur Middle School Tournament. Your hard work and effort paid off! Way to go girls!!!"
