Sounding off on a new school
"Anyone who says a new high school isn't worth it should step inside HHS as a student. There are cracks in windows, leaks from the roof in some areas, the hallways are packed with an excessive amount of people, and we just need to expand in general. When there's 30 students in a classroom, and one of them doesn't have a proper desk or breathing room, that's when people should know it's time for a much needed change. Yes, the school's population is growing, so that's why the future students need a bigger place that can better their education. While there are some teacher-coaches who really shouldn't have taught in the first place, a majority of the faculty does an excellent job in educating us. In a better, modern environment, they can further their hard work. For those that still hold onto to HHS for nostalgic reasons, the school needs to move on and so should you. It's selfish to hold on to your former glory days while your children are in need of a new school. How dare you! Think of the new generations to come and how content and happy they will be. Hartselle, as a town, needs to stop being selfish. Last, I am very proud of the Teacher's Committee that is helping with planning."
