Funeral for Howard W. Turney, 72, of Falkville was Monday, Feb. 8, at 12 noon at Faith Independent Church with the Rev. James E. Mills Jr. officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in the Turney Family Cemetery.
Mr. Turney died Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010, at UAB Medical Center. He was born August 17, 1937. He was the owner of H.W. Turney &Sons Construc-tion Company. He was a founder and charter member of Faith Indepen-dent Church and served as a trustee for 20 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Winford Turney; two brothers, McGlone Turney and Elmo Turney; and two sisters, Ivalee Partain and Mozell Turney.
He is survived by his wife, Martha G. Turney of Falkville; a son, Gary Turney and wife Jan of Falkville; two daughters, Cathy Mills and husband James and Brenda Turney, all of Falkville; a sister, Rita Taylor of Falkville; three grandchildren, Jason Freeman, Kymberly Tur-ney and Kristan Turney; two great-grandchildren, Justis Freeman and Sara Freeman; and a sister-in-law, Sandra Turney of Falkville.
Pallbearers were Guy Terry, David Mooney, Jeff Turney, Jake Reed, Larry Partain and Thomas Borden.
