Area man faces meth charges

A Somerville man faces drug charges after Morgan County Sheriff’s Deputies found two methamphetamine labs while serving a warrant at his home.
Deputies and Narcotics and Violence Crimes Task Force agents executed a search warrant Feb. 10 at the home of Ramey Dee Monk of 1066 Antioch Road in Somerville.
Monk was wanted in connection with an active arrest warrant. During Monk’s arrest, agents found two one-pot meth labs, as well as the finished product. Agents also found a large quantity of drug paraphernalia such as ammonium nitrate, coffee filters with meth residue, ziploc bags with meth residue, pseudoephedrine, plastic tubing, glass jars, ether, digital scales and cut straws. A burn barrel was found next to the Monk residence that had partially burned plastic bottles containing ammonium nitrate. Monk was charged with unlawful manufacture of a controlled substance first degree and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond was set at $75,000.
Also arrested at the house was Krista Childress of 813 Ashwood Drive in Madison. She was later charged with unlawful manufacture of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Her bond was also set at $75,000.
