Crestline Elementary’s book drive netted more than $22,806 for the school which means Principal Robin Varwig will be turned into a human hot dog in celebration.
The school’s goal for the book fair was $21,009 and parents, grandparents and students who attended the book fair helped the school surpass its goal. In exchange, Principal Susan Varwig has agreed to dress up as a human hot dog with students allowed to add all the condiments they want.
In addition to the book fair, classes also particpated in a door decoration contest. Overall winner for the kindergarten – second grade class was Amy Shirey’s class.
Winner in the third – fifth grade division was Christy Bennich’s class. Margie Adams’ class was runner-up in the K-second category and Nona Livingston’s class was runner-up in the third-fifth category.
Money raised through the book fair will be used to bring an author or illustrator to the school and to purchase technology items for the school’s library.
