Funeral for Myra Gail Colquitt Brown, 59, of Decatur was Thursday, February 11, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wendell Callahan officiating.
Burial was in Johnson Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. Brown died Monday, February 8, 2010, at Parkway Medical Center. She was born June 16, 1950, in Winston County to Paul Edward Colquitt and Faye Nell Summerford Colquitt. She was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, James A. Brown; a son, Thomas Ray Brown; her parents; and a brother, John Wayne Colquitt.
She is survived by a son, Jason E. Brown Sr. and wife Stacy of Hartselle; a sister, Patricia Colquitt Brown and husband Jack of Hartselle; two grandchildren, Christina and Jason Brown Jr.; two special nephews who helped care for her, Eugene and Tim Brown; two aunts, Shirley Shelton of DisPlains, Ill. and Lola Summerford of Falkville; two sisters-in-law, Frances Laurimore and Linda Brown of Hartselle; and a host of other nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Les Irvin, Bobby Champion, A.D. Halbrooks, Paul Barber, Steven Barber and Curtis Brown.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Decatur Health and Rehab and the E.R. staff at Parkway Hospital for their excellent care of Mrs. Brown and family.
