Clean-up day set at Wheeler home

Funeral for “Tommy” Aaron Thomas Lanier Sr., 53, of Lacey’s Spring was Friday, March 5, at 1 p.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church with Dr. Charles Owens officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.
Mr. Lanier died Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at his residence. He was born April 21, 1956, in Madison County to James Thomas Lanier and Louise Laymon Lanier. He owned and operated A &L Locksmith in Huntsville. Tommy was a workaholic and took care of all his family. He and his wife Johnnie married at Shiloh Baptist Church May 6, 1989, where they attended for several years until recently moving to The Rock in Huntsville. He loved videos and had a hugh selection and loved to play bingo. He especially loved his granddaughter, Alexis. He will be missed by his family and his customers. He was preceded in death by a grandchild, Piper Michelle Lanier.
He is survived by his wife, Johnnie Sue McAnally Lanier; two sons, Jeremy Thomas Lanier of Ball Ground, Ga. and Aaron Thomas Lanier Jr. of Huntsville; a daughter, DeAndra Beth Lanier of Huntsville; his parents, Thomas Lanier and Louise Lanier of Lacey’s Spring; two brothers, Gary Wayne Lanier of Lacey’s Spring and Timothy Ray Lanier of Memphis, Tenn.; a sister, Brenda Faye Walker of Cullman; two granddaughters, Alexis Payton Dudley and Gracie Lynn Lanier; a sister-in-law, Shirley McAnally-Cappiello; four nephews, Bradley Joe McAnally, David R. Armstrong, Gary Wayne Lanier Jr. and Jeffrey Dale Walker; in-laws, Melvin and Wilma McAnally; and a son-in-law, Chris Dudley.
Pallbearers were family and friends.
The family requests memorials be made to the Redstone Federal Credit Union in memory of Mr. Lanier.
