Clean-up day set at Wheeler home

Seven generations after the beginning of the Civil War, another wave of volunteers is about to descend on America’s storied battlegrounds – only this array of dedicated people will be armed with paint brushes, trash bags and weed whackers.
On April 10, volunteers will team up with the Civil War Preservation Trust to help clean and restore priceless battlefields, cemeteries and shrines. Pond Spring, The General Joe Wheeler Home will participate in Park Day. Volunteers are needed to clean up in the yard and on the grounds. For more information, call 637-8513.
