Students face hearings on drugs

Two Hartselle High School students accused of misusing prescription drugs will face disciplinary hearings once they return from Spring Break.
In two separate incidents, the students were taken via ambulance to Hartselle Medical Center March 10.
The first teenager was discovered by a teacher who sent him to the nurse’s office, where he reportedly said he’d taken a sleeping pull. The other student was exhibiting odd behavior and was also taken to the nurse’s office.
He reportedly had taken several prescription pills that weren’t his own.
The students, both boys, had their lockers searched and were taken to the hospital for examination. No other drugs were found in their lockers or belongings.
The two now face disciplinary hearings in accordance with Hartselle School System’s drug testing policy.
