An open house memorial for Jordan Newman Osborn, 94, of Lincoln, Neb., will be Sat., Mar. 27, from 6 to 9 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Grimes, Iowa.
Mr. Osborn died Mon., Mar. 15, 2010. He was born Oct. 20, 1915, in Hartselle to Jordan F. and Alice Osborn. He helped his father farm in Alabama before working in CCC camps. He joined the Merchant Marines during World War II. He and his wife farmed many years in Iowa and later in Minnesota and Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, who died in 2009.
He is survived by his son, Dan Osborn of North Kansas City, Mo.; three daughters, Bonnie Lewis and husband Marshall of Kansas City, Mo., Judy Gnam and husband Peter of Owatonna, Minn. and Barbara Rempe and husband Kim of Lincoln, Neb.; four grandchildren, Ben Gnam, Paul Gnam, Joe Rempe and Molly Lewis; and a sister, Sarah Foote of Gadsden.
