Funeral for Ralph T. Summerford, 88, of Hart-selle was Sun., Mar. 21, at 2:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Hartselle with Bros. Robert Sparkman, Harold Thomp-son and Bobby Ray Hal-brooks officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in Herring Cemetery.
Mr. Summerford died Thurs., Mar. 8, 2010, at Brookwood Medical Cen-ter. He was born Oct. 24, 1921, in Morgan County. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Hartselle where he was a member of the Haynes Sunday School class. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Jackson Summerford Jr., Ella Tanner Summerford and Ruby Morris Summerford and a brother, Hugh Summerford.
He is survived by his wife, Orlean Summerford of Hartselle; two daughters, Linda Russell and husband Ray and Charlotte Speake and husband Bob, all of Hartselle; three brothers, J.J. Summerford and wife Bobbie of Hartselle, Louyn Summerford and wife Gloria of Charlotte, N.C. and Jack Summerford and wife Barbara of Danville; six sisters, Margaret Campbell of Littleton, CO., Stella Brown and husband Glenn “Boots” of Gardendale, Rachel Fowler of Birmingham, Nina Johnson and husband W.O. and Willie Monroe and husband Ed, all of Hartselle and Sandra Angela and husband Jack of Decatur; two granddaughters, Stacy Westbrook and husband Paul of Hartselle and Lisa Speake; a grandson, David Speake; and a special great-granddaughter, Sarah Westbook.
Pallbearers were nephews.
