Sumiton Christian perfect in tourney

FALKVILLE - Sumiton Christian scored two runs in the bottom half of the seventh inning to beat Falkville 7-6 in the tournament.
The Eagles had one hit in the inning and took advantage of a pair of hit batters, a walk and a Falkville error.
Falkville had taken a 6-5 lead in the top half of the sixth inning with a 3-run homer by Drew Nall.
Brye Hill and David Defoor led Falkville with a single and a double each, while Aaron Lee added a double. Corey Holliday had two singles.
Cody Kelsoe added a hit for the Blue Devils and Chad Kirkpatrick walked twice and scored two runs for Falkville in the loss.
Danville 8, Brewer 3
Jacob Fields struck out 15 and allowed just three hits as Danville beat Brewer 8-3 Friday morning.
Evan Cleghorn led Danville with two hits, while Matt Vest added a double. The Hawks also got a pair of RBIs from Corey Gillies and Thomas Russell in the win.
All of Brewer’s runs came on a 3-run homer by Caleb Stuart.
Decatur Heritage 5, Falkville 4
Justin Cobb and Drew Nall finished with two hits each as Falkville came up short against Decatur Heritage.
The Blue Devils’ Corey Holladay, Cody Kelsoe, Brye Hill and David Defoor all added one hit each in the loss.
Falkville scored three runs in the fifth inning and added another in the seventh inning to cut the final margin to one run.
Danville 5, West End 4
Dylan Woods struck out three to lead Danville to a 5-4 victory over West End.
Woods went the distance, allowing just one earned run. He finished with three strikeouts.
Matt Vest led Danville at the plate with two doubles. Jacob Fields and Thomas Russell also had doubles in the win.
At the plate, Woods had an RBI and a stolen base.
Sumiton Christian 11, Brewer 1
Brewer managed just four hits in an 11-1 loss to Sumiton Christian Friday afternoon.
Danville 4, Sumiton Christian 0
Thomas Russell limited Sumiton Christian to just four hits in a win over Sumiton Christian.
The loss was the first for Sumiton Christian in the tournament.
Russell finished with six strikeouts for the Hawks.
Cole Veazey had two hits for Danville, while Trey Jones finished with two RBIs in the win.
Tri-County Spring Break
Priceville 12, Sulligent 2
Dalton Lorrance slugged a 3-run homer to lead Priceville to a 12-2 victory over Sulligent in the Tri-County Stournament in Fayette.
Jarrod Clark doubled twice for the Bulldogs.
Tyler Croft earned the win after striking out four in five innings of work.
Fayette Co. 12, Priceville 7
Ryan Madwell had three hits in Priceville’s 12-7 loss to host Fayette County.
Justin West added a double and finished with three RBIs in the loss.
