Danville homers spark victory

CADDO - Thomas Russell and Dylan Woods homered in the first inning to give Danville all the offense it would need Saturday in a 14-1 win over East Lawrence.
Russell, who finished with three hits and drove in a pair of runs, earned the win on the mound after striking out seven.
East Lawrence finished with just four hits.
Woods finished with four RBIs for the Hawks, while Matt Vest added four hits and three RBIs, while Cole Veazey, Jessie Posey and Evan Cleghorn had three hits each.
Deshler 9, Danville 2
Thomas Russell and Evan Cleghorn both singled twice in Danville’s 9-2 loss to Deshler.
Trey Jones added a double for the Hawks in the loss at East Lawrence .
Athens 15, Priceville 13
Clay Chandler, Ryan Madewell, Dalton Lorance and Jarrod Clark all homered in Priceville’s 15-13 loss to Athens Saturday.
Chandler, Madewell and Lorance finished with two hits each in the loss.
Athens’ William Smith added two homers. Chris Tompkins doubled three times for the Golden Eagles.
Priceville 7, East Limestone 4
Clay Chandler singled three times to lead Priceville in a 7-3 victory over East Limestone.
Wesley St. John struck out two in five innings of work to earn the win.
Tyler Croft and Justin West both added two hits for the Bulldogs.
Danville 6, Hamilton 3
With a solid performance on the mound from Jacob Fields, Danville knocked off Hamilton 6-3.
Fields finished with nine strikeouts in 6.2 innings to earn the win.
Trey Jones led the way with a pair of hits for Danville.
The Hawks got RBIs from Thomas Russell, Fields, Corey Gillies and Evan Cleghorn to beat the Aggies.
Priceville 9, Fairview 6
Priceville beat Fairview in a Class 4A, Area 13 game with the help of Wesley St. John’s 3-run homer.
St. John finished with three hits in the win. Bennett Clark and Clay Chandler finished with two hits each.
Chandler struck out six in five innings to get credit for the win.
