Man allegedly stabbed woman
By Staff
A Hartselle man was arrested last week after being accused of stabbing his live-in girlfriend.
Gerry Steve Nelson, 53, is charged with domestic violence in the second degree, a felony.
The arrest comes on the heels of a March 18 domestic violence report at 142 Mt. Tabor Road. Sheriff Deputies found Kelly Thaxton, 50, being treated by emergency medical personnel for various injuries. She had blunt force injuries to her face, a laceration on her head and a stab wound to her leg. She was taken to Hartselle Medical Center where she was treated and released.
Thaxton’s boyfriend, Nelson, had left before deputies arrived. He was arrested March 23 and was taken to Morgan County Jail on $20,000 bond.
