Funeral for JoAnn Jaco Goode, 74, of Lacey’s Spring will be Fri., April 23, at 1 p.m. at New Canaan Baptist Church with the Revs. Eldridge Criscoe and Shane Wheeler officiating and Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home directing.
Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
Mrs. Goode died Tue., April 20, 2010, at her residence. She was born July 25, 1935, in Florence to Clessie Thomas Jaco and Willie Mae LeMay Jaco. She was the co-founder of G&J Automatic Screw Inc. and a member of New Canaan Baptist Church in Somerville. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Lee Goode; a brother, Leonard Jaco; and two sisters, Janie Jaco and Mary Lee Herring.
She is survived by a son, Bobby Lee Goode II of Lacey’s Spring; four daughters, Brenda Goode of Nashville, Tenn., Sheila Butler of Lacey’s Spring, Kathy Huskey of Somerville and Angela Henderson of Warner Robbins, Ga.; seven brothers, Neal Jaco, Billy Jaco, Jesse Jaco, Paul Ray Jaco, Jerry Jaco, James K. Jaco and Clessie Jaco Jr.; two sisters, Edna Gant and Patricia McDonald; and five grandchildren, Kristi Huskey Dudley, Marcus Huskey, Wesley Hender-son, Shelby Henderson and Greg Dudley.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley or Camp Blue Bird with Decatur General Hospital.
