Priceville sweeps North Jackson

PRICEVILLE — Priceville swept North Jackson in the first round of the Alabama High School Athletic Association’s Class 4A state playoffs Friday at home.
The Bulldogs beat North Jackson 3-1 and 7-3 to advance to the second round. Priceville will host Guntersville Friday.
Priceville, winners of 12 of its last 14 games, improved to 21-14 overall with the sweep.
Dalton Lorance drove in two runs for the Bulldogs in the first game with a single and a double.
Jarrod Clark added a double that scored the third Priceville run.
North Jackson scored its lone run in the seventh inning.
Croft earned the win in the opening game of the series after allowing just three hits.
Clay Chandler closed out the win in the opener to get the save.
Priceville scored five runs in the seventh inning to pick up the win in the second game.
Wesley St. John, Chandler and Lorance all had hits in the seventh inning.
Lorance drove in two runs with a single.
Chandler came back after working in relief in the opening game and went six innings.
St. John pitched in the bottom of the seventh to earn the save.
