Funeral for Ethel Olene Wilbanks, 90, of Hartselle was Tue., April 27, at 2 p.m. at Pattillo Street Church of God with the Revs. John Elliott and Jerry Irwin officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in Friendship Cemetery.
Mrs. Wilbanks died Sat., April 24, 2010, at her residence. She was born Sept. 14, 1919, in Morgan County to Arthur Huett Self and Josie Mae McCay Self. She was a devout Christian and a member of Pattillo Street Church of God for 56 years. She loved quilting. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Austin Self, Floyd Self and Huett Self; a son, Melvin Refford Wilbanks; and a great-granddaughter, Emily Orr.
She is survived by her husband, Carlos John Wil-banks; three sons, Carlos Wilbanks Jr. and wife Shirley of Danville, Ronald Wilbanks and wife Barbara of Hartselle and Gerald “Flip” Wilbanks and wife Nancy of Goodspring, Tenn.; two daughters, Laneita Davis and husband Cecil of Somerville and Rebekah Morgan and husband Timmie of Danville; a daughter-in-law, Carolyn Wilbanks of Somerville; four sisters, Evalene Orr of Decatur, Mildred Johnson of Somerville, Esther Bloom of Marietta, Ga., Dorothy “Dot” Maples of Valhermoso Springs; 15 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Ricky Wilbanks, Lydell Wilbanks, Jason Wilbanks, Gerald Wilbanks, Brian Davis, Justin Wilbanks and Daniel Morgan.
