Funeral for Don McGee, 77, of Hartselle was Wed., May 5, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Hartselle with Dr. Jeff Redmond officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in Hartselle City Cemetery.
Mr. McGee died Mon., May 3, 2010, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born Dec. 8, 1932, in Bibb County to Crit H. McGee and Ethelyn Lawley McGee. He was a member of First Baptist Hartselle, retired in 1998 after 44 years with ALDOT, enjoyed fishing, gardening, reading and spending time with family. He was preceded in death by a brother, Dan McGee and a sister, Christine Fountain.
He is survived by his wife, Carol J. McGee of Hartselle; a son, Don E. McGee and wife Gwen of Killen; a daughter, Karen M. Parmer and husband Phillip of Hartselle; five grandchildren, Morgan, Mason and Parker McGee of Killen and Ben and Rachel Parmer of Hartselle; two brothers, Otis McGee and wife Francis of Eoline and Joe McGee and wife Martha of Saginaw; four sisters, Imogene Smith and Lynn Martin and husband Bob, all of Montgomery, Maurine Ratliff and husband Gerald of Prattville and Brenda Reid and husband David of Chatta-nooga; a sister-in-law, Dorothy McGee of Lawley.
Pallbearers were Ben Parmer, Mason McGee, Rondy Smith, Duane McGee, Jeff McGee and Joey McGee. Honorary pallbearer was Parker McGee.
