Funeral for Margaret B. Petty, 86, of Gallipolis, Ohio was Fri., May 7, at 2 p.m. at Lebanon Baptist Church in Falkville with Dr. Randy Ashley and Bro. Ray Lee officiating.
Burial was in Lebanon Cemetery.
Mrs. Petty died Sunday, May 2, 2010. She was born Sept. 4, 1923, in Hartselle to Weaver and Pearl Adams Brindley. She was a long-time member of Lebanon Baptist Church. She and her husband lived in many places including Kentucky, Alaska, Hawaii and California while working for the Southern Baptist Home Mission Board. She relocated to Gallipolis, Ohio in 2009 to live with her daughter after her husband passed away. She will be sadly missed by her family and a multitude of friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, William A. Petty; a son, Timothy Petty; and three brothers-in-law, Freeman Miller, R.C. Hudgins and Kenneth Taylor.
She is survived by a daughter, Mary Floyd and husband Tony of Gallipolis, Ohio; two sons, William Petty and wife Susan of Felton, PA. and Peter Petty and wife Carolyn of Falkville; four grandchildren; a great-grandson; a brother, Thad Brindley of Athens; three sisters, Betty Miller of Hartselle, Joan Hudgins of Arab and Fay Taylor of Falkville; several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews; and a great-great-niece and nephew.
