Funeral for Pastor Jerry A. Grimes, 58, of Hartselle was Sat., May 8, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Samuel Parker, Ed King and the Rev. Curtis Stanford officiating.
Burial was in Center Springs Cemetery.
Mr. Grimes died Wed., May 5, 2010, at UAB Medical Center in Birmingham. He was born Oct. 3, 1951, in Madison County to Junior Jackson Grimes and Corrine Poteet Grimes. He was a maintenance worker for AMTEC Company, loved to play and sing music, was an avid Alabama fan and loved to preach the Gospel. He was a member of Somerville Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Freeman Grimes of Hartselle; a son, Allen Grimes and wife Lorrie of Booneville, Miss.; a daughter, Tabitha Grimes of Hartselle; a brother, Jimmy Grimes of Booneville, Miss; a sister, Kaye Eldridge of Booneville, Miss; and five grandchildren, Erica, Kayla, Tatum, Tyler and Kody.
Pallbearers were Robert Freeman, Ed James, Roger Freeman Jr., David Hopson, Bobby Franks, Wayne Shirley, Allen Grimes and Jimmy Grimes.
Honorary pallbearers were L.D. Keeton, Frankie Maples, Harold McCaig and Chuck Oden.
