Advice for the graduates of 2010
In honor of Hartselle High School’s 2010 graduates, my son, Wade Allen Blaylock, being one of them , I would like to offer a few words of wisdom and some thought provoking quotes I have collected or found on the internet.
First of all, to my son:
Dear Wade,
Although, I have lived every minute of it, it is hard to believe 18 years have passed since I held you as an infant. As with all children you have made your mistakes, and, hopefully, learned from them.
Each day is a priceless and precious gift. I have no magical words of wisdom on how to make your life a success other than each and every day you have to make a choice on what is important to you. Remember that no matter how much you earn or what your career is, in the end the only person who answers for your actions and your choices is you. The only person you truly have to answer to is our Heavenly Father.
In my heart I can tell you that if you follow, not your heart’s dreams, but your Heavenly Father’s guidance, all will be well. I truly believe our Heavenly Father allows hardships not to punish us, but to mold us and sometimes so someone else can see our response.
It’s not how we act during the easy times that show our true selves; it is the hard times that truly show our heart and soul.
I also want you to know. I love you and am very proud to call you my son. Whatever you choose for your life, I want you to know that I will always love you and may God guide and keep you.
Love,
Mom
