City schools offer “what parents want”
For the 15th year, Hartselle City Schools are included on a prestigious list of schools that experts say offer what parents are looking for in education.
Hartselle is one of 25 public schools in the state recognized in School Match’s “What Parents Want” list. The awards are presented to 2,407 of the country’s 15,571 public schools and recognize those schools that make strides to meet the educational needs of their communities.
Hartselle’s City Schools have been named to the list every year since 1996.
School Match is a school selection consulting firm and helps corporate families find schools that match the needs of their children.
The awards are based on competitive academic scores, accreditation, recognition by a national foundation or US Department of Education, competitive teacher salaries, instructional expenditures above national averages, small class sizes and libraries or media services funded above the national average.
The schools are chosen based on a questionnaire sent to parents.
