Local artists earn statewide honors
Acrylic work by Clara Orr was chosen for the Alabama Wildlife Federation Art exhibit. The exhibit was located at the Larnark Museum in Millbrook. She and other chosen artists were honored with a reception at the museum on April 11.
Also, Rachael Robbins was chosen second in her age division by the federation for her red fox portrayal in colored pencil. Robbins in a home schooled eighth grader and the daughter of Ed and Kim Robbins of Hartselle.
She was awarded a plaque and prizes at an April 17 reception.
Several local students were also selected for honors in the Federal Junior Duck Stamp Art Competition. Honored were: Christen Bradley, second place; Isabel Bender and Nidhi Vakharia, third places; Caroline Crow, Sarah Butler and Whitney Flemings, honorable mentions.
All are students at Hartselle Art Studio and Gallery.
