Hartselle man charged with abusing teen
A Hartselle man is charged with sodomy after a mother reported he abused her 14-year-old son.
Robert Earl Bogie, 66, of 114 Maples Circle, was arrested June 16 after a two-and-a-half month investigation.
According to Sheriff’s Greg Bartlett, the boy’s mother had contacted the Sheriff’s Office to report the alleged abuse. Investigators interviewed the victim, as did officials with the Morgan County Child Advocacy Center. Sheriff officials also obtained copies of medical records.
Bogie was then interviewed and agreed to undergo a polygraph. After the polygraph, sheriff’s investigators said Bogie confessed.
Bogie is being held in the Morgan County Jail on $10,000 bond.
