Davis Roberts

A graveside service for Davis Roberts, 87, of Hartselle was Tuesday, July 6, at 11 a.m. at Johnson Chapel Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Roberts died Saturday, July 3, 2010. He was born September 23, 1922, to John William Roberts and Belle Garrard Roberts in Lawrence County. He was a World War II veteran and a self-employed painter for 50 years. He was a devoted father to all his children, a loving grandfather and great-grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Julia Stewart Roberts and a son, Jimmie Davis Roberts.
He is survived by a son, Ernie Roberts of Crete, Ill.; three daughters, Colleen Roberts Smithson and Nancy Roberts Hendy, both of Hartselle and JoAnn Roberts Harris of Murphreesboro, Tenn.; 15 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Chris Harrison, Jesse Harrison, Dennis Smithson Sr., Dennis Smithson Jr., Lester Hendy and Eric Roberts.
Honorary pallbearers were Antoine Scott and Kevin Scott.
