Funeral for Paul O. Shelton, 79, of Eva was Sat., July 17, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dewayne Harper officiating.
Burial was in Lawrence Cove Cemetery.
Mr. Shelton died Thur., July 15, 2010, at Summerford Nursing Home. He was born Nov. 17, 1930, in Cullman County to Steve L. Shelton and Altha Yarbrough Shelton. He was a veteran of the Korean War, a member of Oden Ridge Baptist Church and served as chief of the Oden Ridge Fire Department for many years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Murfean Aday Shelton.
He is survived by a stepson, Dwight McNutt and wife Kim of Eva; five brothers, Louie Shelton, Tommy Shelton, Huey Shelton, Floyd Shelton and Asa Shelton, all of Eva; a sister, Mary Adams of Cullman; and two grandchildren, Hannah and Haley McNutt.
Pallbearers were Mike Tankersley, Ryan Tankersley, Len Gibbs, Bobby Beavers, Richard Whipple and D. H. Oden.
