Bad check roundup planned

Morgan County residents who owe for worthless checks or court fines are getting a message from the District Attorney’s office: Pay up or go to jail.
Morgan County DA Bob Burrell said his office will be conducting its fall roundup of worthless check writers and individuals who owe the court money. The operation will take place before the end of the month.
Anyone owing money to either the Morgan County Worthless Check Unit or the Morgan County Restitution Recovery Unit who has not made arrangements to pay need to turn themselves in to the DA’s office during regular hours to avoid arrest. All outstanding warrants are subject to immediate arrest.
