City wants your help in naming restaurant road
The ground is broken and plans are in place for the February 2011 opening of Hartselle’s Cracker Barrel. Now all that’s needed is a name for the road where the down-home restaurant will be located.
Names such as Hospitality Lane and Rocking Chair Way have been batted around but instead of deciding on its own, the Hartselle City Council has decided to turn to the public to help with the naming.
Suggestions for the name are being accepted at City Hall through Aug. 20. Suggestions should be submitted to City Hall at 773-2535. Once the submittals are done, the council will vote on its favorites.
Meanwhile, local contractor Woodward Construction is performing site work at the interstate location and other infrastructure work will begin soon.
The city will also be constructing turn lanes from Lando Cain Road to an access road at the restaurant site. The city is seeking a grant to help fund a large portion of that work.
