Evans injured in fall at HHS stadium
One of Hartselle High School’s biggest supporters is recovering from an injury he suffered while filming a Tiger football practice.
Bill Evans was filming a scrimmage at Hartselle’s practice fields on Aug. 7 when he fell from a scissor lift and landed on the concrete below. He was taken via Med-Flight to Huntsville Hospital where he was placed in intensive care. He was listed in stable condition at presstime, recovering from a fractured skull, broken ribs and a fractured pelvis.
Evans, 73, has filmed Hartselle High School football games for nearly 50 years. He is a member of the Morgan County Sports Hall of Fame and the press box at J.P. Cain Stadium bears his name.
