This Carolina Cross watermelon out grew everything else Kenneth Drinkard of Hartselle had planted in his backyard garden this summer.  It weighed 110 pounds and had a girth that measured 51 1/ 2 inches. Of course, it got a little more attention than some of his other garden plantings. “I kept it fertilized and watered and enjoyed watching it grow,” Drinkard said.
